I have thrown pots for as long as I have lived by this coast. Claypath grew out of a want to make things that get used every day, in the colours of the sea I look at from the studio window.
The sea tones are my own. I gather seaweed from the beach, burn it, and work the ash into my glazes, so the coast ends up in the clay. I write about the good firings and the failed ones in the journal.

The studio is an old net loft on Quay Road, the kind of building that once held fishing gear. I share it with two other makers, so there is always a kettle on and someone to talk a problem through.
You are welcome to visit by appointment. It is a working studio, a little dusty and full of pots at every stage, which is the nicest way to see how the work is made.
